BOE was left out of the initial iPhone 15 OLED panel order
Apple wants to diversify its OLED supply chain by including the Chinese OLED manufacturer BOE as part of its strategy to decrease its reliance on Samsung. Apple has only relied on Samsung and LG up until this point, with LG receiving the majority of orders.
In any case, Apple’s iPhone 15 creation won’t design as BOE boards are yet to meet the quality prerequisites.
However, the TheElec report suggests that BOE isn’t entirely out of the mix. The Chinese manufacturer appears to be making progress, but it will not be able to fulfill the initial OLED order in time, so it will participate in subsequent batches.
